What Is Reiki?
Reiki is Japanese for Universal Life Energy. As a therapy, Reiki is the practice of transferring this energy through a Reiki practitioner to a recipient. The healing art of Reiki revitalizes and re-energizes the body, mind, and spirit, enabling the wholeness of a recipient to be brought back into balance. A Reiki practitioner is not a “healer”, but instead the facilitator of healing.
How does Reiki work?
- It helps to manage, reduce, and eliminate pain.
- It helps improve healing from a trauma or injury.
- It promotes a holistic balance of mind and body.
Similar to acupuncture, Reiki works with Qi and each individual’s Chakras (energy centers that serve as gateways for the flow of energy into the physical body). From these energy centers, Qi flows through a network of channels and meridians, supplying energy to the recipient. Reiki helps improve this flow and direct the energy to assist in healing the ailment.
